A custodial crypto wallet with exchange feature and a separate B2B widget.

Situation

Swaps.app was a custodial crypto wallet with an exchange and a B2B widget, built from zero by a company of ten.

Task

Design a flow that stops a non-expert sending funds to the wrong network, without burying them in warnings or leaning on a generic disclaimer.

Action

I designed a four-stage safety mechanism: automatically filtering incompatible networks, showing the financial cost of each available network, asking users to explicitly confirm that the destination supports the chosen network, and finally making the potential loss impossible to miss before confirmation.

Result

The product shipped with a much more deliberate decision-making flow. Instead of treating the problem as a simple warning, the UX progressively reduced risk while keeping the user in control.
